Service Technician

A service technician of Dynamic plays a crucial role in the successful execution of various residential and commercial construction projects. A competence in construction skills, processes, and problem-solving skills make this service technician critical in ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standard.

A service technician of Dynamic plays a crucial role in the successful execution of various residential and commercial construction projects. Service Technician Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with construction site preparation, managing project tasks, and operating and maintaining construction tools and machines

  • Ensuring compliance with construction safety standards

  • Day-to-day work - Maintaining detailed logs and documentation of project progress, investigations, and incidents

  • Communicating with supervisory and peer staff

  • Assisting with on-site challenges and troubleshooting issues

  • Constructing, repairing, and maintaining buildings

  • The following skills are considered an asset: drywall, taping and plaster, sanding and painting, trim installation, door adjustments, knowledge of fence and deck construction

  • Follows all company policies and procedures

  • Assisting in the coordination and monitoring of various subcontractors and construction workers

  • Conducting on-site inspections and reviewing construction materials to be used and installed, and installing these materials

  • Operation and maintaining construction equipment and tools

  • Assisting with surveying, inspections of building issues, and setting up of equipment and sites for construction tasks

  • Providing technical advice and solving problems on-site


Work Hours and Benefits:

  • Full-time, permanent position. The successful candidate can expect between 35 to 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. An hourly rate of $22 to $30/hour can be expected, depending on experience

  • Paid time off, health insurance, retirement planning, and professional development are offered.

  • 3 weeks vacation


Service Technician Qualifications and Skills:

  • Learn new maintenance skills quickly.

  • Works with customers and has excellent customer service skills.

  • Collaborates with managers and service technicians and has strong interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrates time management, problem-solving, and organization skills.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Valid G-class Ontario driver’s license and/or other province in Canada

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is an asset

  • A trade’s college certification in some type of construction or carpentry is an asset

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience. On-the-job training is a must.

  • Communication skills (listening, verbal and written)

  • Independent worker

  • Dependable/reliable, punctual

  • Team player

  • Flexible to move to different projects and jobs

  • Attention to detail

  • Bilingualism is an asset

  • A willingness to learn
